Junior Book Club Meeting 3

The Junior Book Club met on Friday 29th at lunchtime to discuss the books they had read over the past month. “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover” was the theme of the previous meeting and the students chose their books differently. Each book was covered in brown paper and a brief blurb written on the outside to help students to decide which book was the one for them. The challenge was met with great enthusiasm!

A lively discussion was held at the meeting and the students thoroughly enjoyed the challenge. It was wonderful to learn that, although the books chosen we not from their usual genre, the students enjoyed their choices for the most part. Some students had decided to purchase other books by the author of their chosen challenge book.

We also discussed the books they had received as gifts at Christmas. The Junior Book Club are enjoying reading for pleasure. Our next book is The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien.
